Product Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 22, 2023.

1. Overview

Dr. Huang's Marketing Solutions is an advertising agency that uses optimization algorithms to help advertisers determine the value of an incoming impression and to place a bid in order to win that impression. We provide technology that assists advertisers in managing digital advertising campaigns across various channels. These advertising campaigns, run by our clients, help support the content you enjoy.

Our advertising technology platform and systems ("Products") collect and use data to help ensure that the ads you see are relevant, as well as to measure and report their effectiveness.

The scope and purpose of this Product Privacy Policy are to explain in detail the type of data we collect, how we collect it, how we use it, and how we disclose it. It is important to note that this policy only refers to our own Products and does not include the technology or systems of clients or partners that use or integrate with us. Clients are bound by our policies when they use our Products.

In the following chapters, we will provide further information on the data we collect, the choices available to you, and how you can exercise your rights related to your data. If you have any questions after reading this policy, please feel free to contact us at privacy@huang.marketing.

2. Information We Collect or Process through Our Products

To provide our advertising technology and services, we gather and process various types of pseudonymous information through our Products. This information may consist of:

  • Device advertising IDs

  • Browser and device types, versions, and configurations

  • IP addresses

  • Geographical data based on IP addresses or other location-specific details

  • Web browsing history collected from advertising impressions

  • Details about displayed ads, including which ads are presented to a device or user, their location (on a web page or app), the time they are displayed, and whether they result in a conversion

Our Products collect data in several ways, including the following:

  • Advertisers: Advertisers may share their own information with our Products, such as conversion events. We store and utilize this data on their behalf to improve the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns.

  • Bid requests: These are sets of information that describe an ad space that is available to be filled. We receive these requests from ad exchanges, which contain information about the ad space, the device, and sometimes the user, including location information.

  • Pixels: These enable us to record whether and when an ad is shown. After an ad serves, our servers receive a request from the device on which the ad was shown to confirm that the ad was delivered and provide information for us to measure the ad.

3. Use of Collected Information

Our Products process data both on our behalf and on behalf of clients and partners for purposes related to targeting, delivering, measuring, and reporting on advertising. The information we collect serves various purposes:

  • Ad targeting and optimization: We utilize data to enhance advertising relevancy and effectiveness, ensuring that the ads displayed to users are more personalized and engaging.

  • Ad delivery and measurement: We use data to facilitate the technical delivery of an ad, measure its success, and keep track of how many times an ad was shown, as well as the time and location of its display.

  • Reporting: We leverage pseudonymous identifiers to measure, attribute, and report on the performance and success of advertising campaigns. This includes transaction reporting and verification, as well as tracking clicks and conversions.

  • Fraud detection and prevention: We process information to identify and prevent malicious activity or invalid ad traffic, which may involve detecting and blocking purveyors of malware or bots that attempt to exploit advertising dollars for ads not shown to real users or that endanger users' devices.

  • Compliance with legal obligations: We may use collected data to fulfill our legal responsibilities, adhere to industry regulations, and maintain a safe and secure environment for users and clients.

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We only share your information with third parties in the ways outlined in this policy. The circumstances under which we may disclose your data include:

  • Client-owned data: Some of the non-personally identifiable data processed through our Products belongs to our clients. In such cases, clients can retrieve this data, such as aggregated records of advertising impressions, from the Products.

  • Investigating malicious activities: We may disclose personal data to investigate or prevent reasonably suspected harmful activities, such as malicious activities, fake traffic, or actions detrimental to us or our clients.

  • Corporate events: We may transfer personal data to a successor entity during corporate events, including mergers, consolidations, asset sales, bankruptcies, or other corporate changes.

  • Legal and regulatory requirements: We may disclose personal data in response to lawful requests from public authorities, including those necessary to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.

  • Aggregated data sharing: We may disclose aggregated data that does not include personally identifiable records to any party or publicly.

5. Product-related Cookies and Similar Technologies

Although we do not use cookies in our Products, we do employ tracking pixels, which are a type of technology similar to cookies. Tracking pixels help us monitor and optimize our advertising efforts.

  • Tracking Pixels: These small, transparent images are embedded in ads, websites, or emails, allowing us to track user interactions with our Products. When a user encounters an ad, visits a webpage, or opens an email containing a tracking pixel, it sends a request to our servers. This request provides us with information about the user's IP address and impression timestamp, enabling us to analyze and optimize the performance of our advertising campaigns.

Please note that tracking pixels do not store information on a user's device as cookies do. However, they help us monitor ad views, measure campaign success, and ensure that our clients' ads reach their intended audiences effectively.

6. User Rights and Choices

Users have various rights and choices when it comes to their personal data collected and processed through our Products. These rights may depend on the user's location, and they include:

  • Opting out of personalized advertising: We utilize data to personalize and deliver ads, along with other ad-related purposes like measurement reporting. Users can opt out of these activities, including the use of sensitive data. Our personalized advertising is facilitated by partner ad exchanges that supply us with personal information via bid requests. To access, delete, or correct your personal information or opt out of personalized advertising, please contact our partners. Further information about their data collection and usage practices can be found on their Privacy Policy websites.

  • Resetting Advertising IDs (AAID/IDFA): For mobile app users, resetting Advertising IDs (such as Google Advertising ID or Apple's Identifier for Advertisers) can help enhance privacy and limit ad tracking. To reset Advertising IDs on Android devices, go to "Settings," select "Google," choose "Ads," and tap "Reset Advertising ID." On iOS devices running a version below iOS 14, go to "Settings," select "Privacy," tap "Advertising," and choose "Reset Advertising Identifier." On iOS devices running iOS 14 or later, go to "Settings," select "Privacy," choose "Tracking," and toggle off "Allow Apps to Request to Track" to limit tracking across apps and websites owned by other companies. The specific steps may vary slightly depending on your device's model and operating system version.

Users will not be discriminated against for exercising their rights under applicable law.
